The University of Perpetual Help System Dalta gained a medicine topnotcher in Karl Emmanuel Cueva Mercader, a Las Pinas resident with 88.58%.
This was announced by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) and the Board of Medicine when it released the top 10 passers list (topnotchers) for the March 2017 Physician board exam on Thursday, March 16, after administering the first Physician board exam this year on March 5,6, 12 and 13 in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Cebu and Zamboanga.
Karl Emmanuel Cueva Mercader, the son of a BF Resort tricycle driver / operator almost quit studying medicine due to the stress he experienced while undergoing clerkship at the Ospital ng Maynila.
He stopped studying and began developing a career in the call center industry.
After almost two years, and with the constant prodding by his ‘lola’, he agreed to the request of his parents to pursue his college degree, Karl Emmanuel went back to study medicine in University of Perpetual Help System Dalta.
He imagined a tarpaulin bearing his picture being publicly displayed in the university parking lot’s wired fence whenever he would pass by to keep myself motivated.
Karl Emmanuel graduated in 2015.
On March 16, 2017, “That DREAM has now become a REALITY”, says Dr. Karl Emmanuel Cuevas Mercader. He didn’t simply pass the medical board exam, but he topped the list of passers.
